Andrei "The Bullet" Kulebin Interview 2007
Andrei Kulebin is widely recognised as undoubtedly not just one of the best 63.5 kilo fighters, but pound for pound one of the best muaythai fighters outside of Thailand. He has held at least 7 world titles with different sanctioing bodies and is a big name all over the world.

Muaythai Online got the chance to exclusively talk to Jomhod about the upcoming fight, how training is going and his fight career as a whole.
MTO: How did you get involved in muaythai?
Andrei Kuelbin: My father bring me to the Gym "Kick Fighter" in Minsk to the Coach Evgeni Kotelnikov 11 years ago.
MTO: Do you train full time
Andrei Kulebin: Now I train 6 time per week, 2 hours training because I study in Sport University. Before when I was student of Olympic reserve Colledge I training 2 times per day.
MTO: How old are you now and how many fights have you had?
Andrei Kulebin: I was born 14th May 1984, I have 115 amaters figts, win 110, and 30 pro fights, win 28
MTO: You once fought in the amateur muaythai championships in Bangkok?
Andrei Kulebin: No I actually won 4 World Amater Championships in Bangkok and 2 timed was silver medallist. In the final was close fights with Thai but ///
MTO: What qualities do you say makes a top fighter?
Andrei Kulebin: He must be clever, strong and have good technique.
MTO: You are regarded now as pound for pound the best fighter from Belarus - how does this make you feel?
Andrei Kulebin: In Belarus there are very many strong fighters and for me sometimes it is more difficult to win the national Championships, than to win World ones.

MTO: You won the I-1 world title in Hong Kong - please tell us about it?
Andrei Kulebin: This is very dificult to win 3 bouts in one day in full Muay Thai rules with very strong opponents. I did this 2 time and I am happy that I win the belts of the most prestigious WMC.
MTO: You also won the WKN world title - please tell us about that fight?
Andrei Kulebin: I win WKN World title 2 time. First time in 2004 in the match Belarus vs USA. This was one o the most difficult fight in my life. I win 3 time pro champion Raul Llopes (Cuba origin fighter from USA which have 87 pro fights). This title I win in 58kg. Then in 2005 I win by KO in second round Morroccan fighter Jalal Echaouchi. This was title in 60,1 kg.
MTO: How many times have you defended your title?
Andrei Kulebin: I defend my title in 63,5kg WMC 1 time. I win this in I-1 2006 and repeatin I-1 2007. WKN title I never defended because I have no proposals.
I was 3 time WAKO World Champion - 2001, 2003, 2007
I was 4 time WMF World Champion - 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007

MTO: What is your favourite technique?
Andrei Kulebin: kicks.
MTO: Do you prefer to fight with or without elbows?
Andrei Kulebin: I like fight with elbows, fight without elbows this is not Muay Thai, clinch became not interesting because no dangerows and more long.
MTO: Is there anyone in particular you would like to fight?
Andrei Kulebin: I am interested to fight with any good fighters.
MTO: What has been the hardest fight for you of your career?
Andrei Kulebin: With Rudolf Durica in Bangkok 2005.

MTO: For you what fight has given you the most satisfaction out of all of them?
Andrei Kulebin: When I win Rudolf in 2007 by TKO.
MTO: IS there a particular country you would like to fight in?
Andrei Kulebin: In Australia and South America. I also never was in UK....

MTO: You have so many fights now, what inspires you when you get in the ring?
Andrei Kulebin: I like this game.
MTO: What fights do you have lined up at the moment?
Andrei Kulebin: I prepare for IFMA WC in Bangkok as a member of Belarus national team. This is obligatory because I have contract with Belarus Ministry of sport and monhly salary for this. Also if I win i will get good prize money from the Government.
MTO: Is there anything you would like to say in closing?
