Best British Male Fighter Of The Year

This is a new initative by Muaythai Online to recognise what the cream of British Muaythai have produced this year.
Voting will take place on Muaythai Online with the public deciding who will be recognised as each winner.
Nominations were open for the last two weeks and the following nominations have been successful:

Liam Harrison (Bad Company)

Liam Harrison, from Bad Company Leeds, has had a very busy year with 10 fights, winning 8 of them.
He started off the year beating Rungsiam on points. Rungsiam had previously beaten Kieran Keddle.
Harrison then defended his WPMF world title on March 16th winning by KO against an Iranian opponen.
He then lost at Rajdamnern against their ranked number 4 Gupi Wor Suthira.
On 23rd June Harrison got his shot at the WMC world title against top ranked Rajadamnern fighter Numphon PK Sterio. Numphon won the fight in a very close points decision.
In August Harrison then had a Western boxing fight above his normal fight weight against the Cambodian Champion, which he won by KO.
He then defended his WPMF world title for a second time in the same year winning by 2nd round KO.
On 28th October, Harrison headlined the Power Of Scotland show knocking out Sornkom from Jockey Gym in the second round.
Harrison then finished the year getting revenge against Numphon PK Sterio by knocking him out in the fourth round and taking the WMC world title off him.
Steven Wakeling (Scorpions)

Steven Wakeling, from Scorpions Epsom, has fought on 3 occasions this year but had 6 fights.
His first fight of the year was his WBC world title defence in February against Langsonkram Chuttwana (see best Thai fighter of the year). Wakeling unfortunately fractured a cheek bone in the first round from an elbow but bravely fought on to lose the fight on points.
Steven next fought in Germany on 15th September in a K-1 rules tournament - Kings Of Kickboxing. He won that tournament beating the likes of Johan Lidon and then Jan De Keyser (It's Showtime Trophy Manchester winner) in the process.
Having won that tournament he then went on to the Kings of Kickboxing finale on 9th December in Munich. In the final he beat Savate Champion M. Odje of France by first round Ko, followed by Luis Reis. Then in the final he again faced Johan Lidon of France winning on points and becoming the Kings Of Kickboxing Champion in addition to the WKA world champion.
In the Muinch final Wakeling won all 3 of his fights.
2007 was the first time Wakeling had fought A-class without elbows for many years and showed he can be a world class athelete under different rules.
Dale White (Dean Whites Gym)

Dale White, from Dean Whites Gym Dewsbury, has fought 3 times this year.
Widley regarded as one of the most stylish fighters ever produced in England, Dale started off his year with a win over.
His next fight was against Portuguese Champion Fernando Machado.
Dale rounded the year off winning the WMC European title against
3 wins by stoppage in 2007 showed why Dale White is regarded as the best fighter in Europe at his weight.
