Muaythai the World Heritage 15th July 2001 Bangkok, Thailand

Held at the Mall Shopping Center, Ngam Wong Wan branch under its slogan 'Muaythai the World Heritage'. This promotion was live-broadcasted all around Thailand by Thai National ITV Channel from 4.00PM to 6.00PM on July 15, 2001.

1.) "The 8th Mitsubishi L-200 Strada Tournament" first round in group B
Mankong Kiatsomkuan won Attapol Por.Samranchai by one-sided unanimous decision. Scores: 50-47 and twice 49-47. Though Mankong was 3-pound lighter, he used his superior aggressive style of kneeing. Mankong got inside throughout the contest and followed by kneeing continuously till his opponent found no ways to encounter. Mankong weighed 130 lbs. and Attapol 133 lbs.

Mankong finally qualified to the semi-final with excellent work of total 3 wins. He had highest points in group B. He will fixed against Samran-Lek Sor.Sumalee, the 2nd place of group A, soon.

2.) Jomhod-Lek Sithkompayak won Rajchamongkol Sor.Ploenchit by unanimous decision. Scores: 49-47 from all 3 judges. Jomhod-Lek finally earned a special bonus of 50,000 Bahts. ( 119.5 lbs.)

3.) Khundej Chor.Sriprasert won Ororno Por.Muang-Ubol by unanimous decision. Scores: 49-48 from all 3 judges. Orono was a bit more favourite before the fight because of his more experience and better opponents ever fought. However, he was 3-pound lighter than Khundej. This made Orono show explicit disadvantage and got less strength. He tried to get inside like his normal style but failed. Khundej used his push kicks and low kicks so well. Orono fell to the canvas many times by his opponent's low kicks to his legs. He was promised to receive a special bonus of 140,000 Bahts from a boxing fan if he could win. However, he couldn't reach that point. Khundej weighed 153 lbs. and Orono 150 lbs.

4.) Permsak Boontavee won Ronnachai Naratreekul by unanimous decision. Scores: 49-48 from all 3 judges. (125 lbs.)

5.) Rajchawat Vor.Taveekiat won Denbua-Khao Muangbua-Khao on points. Rajchawat weighed 138 lbs. and Denbua-Khao 136 lbs.


This was Promoter Songchai's last Muaythai promotion held at the Mall Shopping Center. Since then, this promotion will move to Rajchadamnern Stadium every Thursday evening. It will start on this upcoming July 19th and also live-broadcasted all around Thailand by Thai National ITV Channel from 10.00PM to 12.00PM.
