WKN World Thai Boxing Heavyweight Championship fight June 30th 2001, Belfast Northern Ireland
Duncan Airlie James was first to enter the ring but had to wait for some time while his opponent France's Stephane Reveillon entered into the arena. The giant Stephane stepped over the ring ropes and approached Duncan's corner to give a warriors pre fight touch of gloves - but in a rather defiant way. Both fighters were then gloved up and ready to fight. The sound of the first bell rang.
Stephane attacked with leading round kicks to Duncan's head but could not cleanly land any because of Duncan's guard. Stephane low kicks where stopped in their tracks by Duncan's strong leg blocks - in fact only one low kick from Stephane seem to land where it should - maybe two? In addition, Duncan countered these attacks by exchanging low kicks and pulling Stephane into a clinch.
In the clinch Stephane started to throw some high knees but the Scotsman guard was strong and began countering with low knees to the thigh. The clinch broke and a few tentative exchanges of punches pursued until Duncan caught Stephane with a glancing hook that floored the Frenchman.
Instantly the Frenchman got up and got his gloves wiped by the referee - no standing count. Stephane started to attack Duncan, but once again found himself in a clinch receiving hard knees to the thigh from the Scotsman.
The clinch broke and the Scotsman started to punch Stephane who at this point in time had his back against the ropes and was protecting his head with a high guard. Stephane managed to get off the ropes but the Scotsman was following, producing hard and accurate punches and not letting Stephane get out of his reach.
With a series of flowing uppercuts and hooks, Duncan Airlie James knocked out Stephane Reveillon (plus gumb shield) with a leading hook to the head.
Duncan Airlie James was declared the new WKN World Heavyweight Thai Boxing Champion.
