There are many images on this page and it may take a while to load... The look of this page will improve tomorrow.
On 10th December Watford held its first Thaiboxing fight night, in front of a bumper crowd of 3,000 at Destinys nightclub. The event was organised by Ralph Beale and Paul Taylor (BTB Promotions/Minotaur Gym). Paul Taylor has been involved in the sport many years and Ralph Beale is one of the UKMf's representatives for the WMC. This Muaythai boxing event was held in recognition of His Majesty the King Of Thailand's 73rd Birthday, and had been officially sanctioned by the WMC as a King's Cup event, being one of only 5 such events around the world this year. The programme contained many fighters from the local Minotaurs Gym. One of the many strong points of this event was the high quality of many of the novice bouts.
The main events of the evening were two England vs Thailand fights with Lee Chesters, Wicker Camp Sheffield and Kieran Keddle, Keddle, Orpington, taking on Assanai Keoynork, Eminet Air Bangkok and Khananong Prakim, WMC Samui, Thailand respectively. Both the Thais are experienced fighters with Khananong hoping to be fighting for the Southern Thailand title in February and Assanai having fought in the Kings Cup in Bangkok.
Before the evening's fights commenced, Muaythai Online had the opportunity to interview both the Thai fighters, Assanai Keoynork and Khananong Prakim and Kieran Keddle
The referee for the evening was Mick Steele.
The first 8 fights of the evening were all 3 x 2 minute rounds.
