Battle at the Base

Only 3 weeks until Mike Miles Productions, the XFC, The Calgary SUN, present the upcoming TSN (Canada's national sports television network) fight event, 'Battle at the Base' on Saturday November 8th, 2003 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The event will be taking place at 'Calgary's fight venue' The SUN CENTRE.
The event will feature 8 bouts to be cut into 4 upcoming shows on television as well as pay-per-view.
The following fights have been signed:
The Co-main event features Calgary's Trevor 'T.N.T.' Smandych (3 Time WMC Intercontinental Muay Thai Champion) stepping into the ring against 6 time World Champion Danny 'Hard As' Steele (USA) in a welterweight Muay Thai Title bout (147 lbs. maximum). Smandych squares off against the very respected and extremely dangerous man of over 100 fights (101 wins, 12 losses, 1 draw), Danny Steele. This is the biggest challenge of Smandych's young professional career. Both athletes pack dynamite in their blows, so this bout promises to be a war of attrition!
The other Co-main event featuring Calgary's Erin Linley (WMC World Muay Thai Champion) in a second World Title shot. She steps into the ring against Trinidad's Ria Ramnarine for the vacant WIKBA (Women's International Kick Boxing Association) 110 lb. World Muay Thai Title. Ramnarine is also a very accomplished professional boxer. This promises to be an exciting clash of styles between two talented and very hungry competitors.
The under card features the following signed fights:
- Dave Zychowka (Manitoba, Canada) takes on Adam Higson (Ontario, Canada) in a 5 round non-title middleweight Muay Thai bout. This will be a war between two athletes who have wanted to scrap for a long time!
- Superlightweight Daniel Christian (British Columbia, Canada) steps into the ring against the very popular east coast American athlete Rami Ibrahim (New York, USA). Ibrahim is a very talented and smart athlete who pits his skill against the taller and Thailand trained Christian.
- Rayelene Kellock (Alberta, Canada) battles American Natalie Fuz (New York, USA) at the 147 lb. weight division. Both athletes have lots of international experience. Both have been making big names for themselves on the international circuit.
- Jesse Miles (Alberta) battles against Alexander Murphy (B.C.) in a non title 5 round Muay Thai bout fought in the Supermiddleweight division.
- Superwelterweight Chris Rolsten (Edmonton) squares off against rival Levi Kump (also from Edmonton) in a full Muay Thai rules Canadian Title bout.
One other bout is still unsigned and in the works for this fight event.
