Diamond vs The Boy

On the 28th October Kieran Keddle was to face Neil Woods to determine the number one welterweight in the UK. with Woods recently announcing his retirement from the sport. Keddle's busy fight career was to be interrupted.

Mark Matthews has agreed to face Keddle in what looks set to be a classic welterweight encounter. These two met previously under grand prix rules with Matthews taking the decision on points. However Matthews has a much harder fight ahead of him as he steps up to welterweight, as these contest will be under full muaythai rules - an area under which team Keddle specialises. Keddle is currently Britain's hottest prospect after he defeated world champion Warren Brown and is British ranked number one at welterweight by the British Independent Ratings (B.I.R.).

Matthews, an exciting prospect, who has never yet had an easy fight is also highly rated and is currently ranked number two at light welterweight by the B.I.R. and number 10 in the world by WAKO-pro.

After recent bad postings on the web by people causing trouble before certain matches both fighters and camps have stated that they have great respect for each other and absolutely no bad feelings on either side.

Both teams are professionals with Matthews and Keddle looking forward to meeting each other in the ring and wish each other the best of luck. This could be one of the best fights of the year.
