Keddle's fight controversially cancelled....

Kieran Keddle (Keddle Thaiboxing, England) was due to fight David Naulet (Team Farnaudes, France) for the WKN European Thai-Kickboxing Welterweight title over 5 x 2 rounds on November 12th, in Bethnal Green, London. The fight was a part of an Ali Jacko Thai and kickboxing promotion. However the fight did not take place....

This is an account of one person attending the event. We cannot completely verify accuracy of this account. If you have any further information, please email us at news@muaythaionline.net...
(we ourselves did not have anyone there to cover the event):

Possibly due to the timing not being planned thoroughly 4 fights were cut. Rupert Statchust had his fight cut from 5 rounds to 3 and had his opponent changed. Due to the limited time available Kieran was offered the chance of fighting for just 3 x 1 minute rounds by the promoter. Both fighters refused the fight after as did Sky Sports who were there to cover it and the promoter cancelled it after much arguing between himself and Alan Keddle (Kieran's older bother and trainer).

Below are details of some of the fights that took place:

Theven Guru Naidu (Guru Thai & Kickboxing)--53k Vs 53k Gavin Bradley (K-Star Thai-Boxing)

British title defence by Theven, but beaten on points by Gavin who is now new bantamweight champ (WKN)

WKN British Title---Thaiboxing (Low-Kick)--5 x 2 rounds

Keeley Foster (KO Thai & Kickboxing) Vs Rubecca Donolly (Lorenzo Thai & Kickboxing)

- Win for Keely on points.

Kickboxing (Full-Contact)12 x 2 rounds

Ali Jacko-62k--- Vs---62k- -----Nikolai Angelov
Team JKO Thai & Kickboxing (Bangladesh/England)(Re-Match) Team Michealov (Bulgeria)
Lots of crowd support for Ali, but his opponent failed the weight so he fought a guy from France, winning in the 7th round.(stoppage for cuts)

At this moment, a devastated Kieran is trying to negotiate when the fight will go ahead, as is David Naulet who was equally disappointed to come all the way from France and to fight. Ed- Latest Keddle is due to fight a Thai on 10th December in Watford instead now.

However the WKN web site tells a completely different story:
NEWSFLASH
WKN BAN ON FIGHTER
Statement from the WKN World office

Kieran Keddle from England was to challenge for the WKN European Title at Ail Jacko's event on Saturday 11th of November at the York Hall in London.

Just minutes before the bout was to take place Keddle refused to step into the ring, the reason given was that there were two French judges to one English judge.

World WKN President Stephane Cabrera was outraged and said - 'Keddle will never fight on a WKN event as long as I am World president, I have never heard of this kind of behaviour before and I have been in the sport for many years. He has obviously no respect for the promoter, the WKN and the Champion, David Naulet who was there to defend his title.

If anyone has Ali Jacko's email address could they please send it along so we could ask him for his comments.

Please feel free to comment in the guestbook, but please keep comments polite and constructive.
